Nigerians welcome AFWA support
From 24 to 27 August the Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA) will take place. In July CEO Diana Tambe and production manager Aydin Acik visited Nigeria. Upcoming events were presented, like the African Fashion and Cultural Week Abuja 2017 and the 4th Henna Ball and Award Night. Fashion, empowerment and economy
“We aim to encourage and empower the youth, creating job opportunities through fashion, the development of the African fashion industry, the merge of the African and European market and last but not least, alleviate the lives of those suffering from extreme poverty, & encourage talent and handicraft. We are a platform to create Demand & Supply Internationally!" acclaims the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of AFWA, Miss Diana Tambe.
Diana started the Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam in 2014, being a model for African fashion herself and a designer, with her own label ‘Black Pearl Secret’. She is working hard on promoting African Fashion, amongst others by organizing Fashion Weeks in different countries in Africa. She was born in Cameroon and grew up in the Netherlands. After that she lived in both The Hague and London.
